Braces for Adults

What are Braces for Adults?

Adults can and often deal with many orthodontic problems long-term. You might have never had a chance to get braces when you were younger or you might have had braces but never followed through with maintaining your results. Regardless of how or why you might want braces, we offer many orthodontic options specific to adults. This ensures that you are finally able to achieve the gorgeous, full smile you’ve always wanted.

Why are Braces for Adults needed?

Failure to properly straighten and align your teeth can cause issues with gingivitis, gum disease and tooth decay. Severely crooked and crowded teeth can be difficult to keep clean and nearly impossible to floss around. For this reason, properly aligning the teeth can make brushing and flossing so much easier and more effective. We offer many different types of braces to meet your own unique needs.

Wonder staff and doctor. Highly recommend!

Why Are Braces For Adults Needed

Who is a good candidate for Braces for Adults?

We can consult with you and perform an examination to determine if and when you might need braces. We offer a few different types of braces, including lingual braces, traditional braces and invisible braces (Invisalign). Depending on your needs and the results that are to be achieved, we can determine what types of braces are right for you. Orthodontic treatment can take anywhere from just a few months for adults to a few years depending on how severely misaligned your teeth currently are.

What happens during treatment of Braces for Adults?

We begin the process with a consultation, which gives us a chance to get to know you. We then take impressions and x-rays of your teeth to determine what types of braces you may need and how long you may need to undergo treatment. It is important that when you’re wearing braces of any kind, you make regular trips into the office. This allows us to make adjustments as needed and to ensure that your teeth are shifting in the proper manner. In order to maintain your results, you’ll need to wear a specially-made retainer that can be replaced every few years or more often as needed.

If you think you might need braces and want to come in for a consultation appointment, call us today and we can further assist you.
